In Skilled Hands
Lafayette General Foundation’s special art exhibition and auction, “In Skilled Hands,” featured works of physicians and employees of Lafayette General Health. The event, held March 24 at the Acadiana Center for the Arts, raised over $23,000 with more than one hundred people in attendance.
The annual art auction and exhibit is held in celebration of National Doctors’ Day, observed March 30. Funds generated by the auction go towards the Foundation, Lafayette General Health’s fundraising and philanthropic branch. Monies raised during the event help underwrite Foundation activities such as the funding of equipment in Lafayette General Medical Center’s neonatal ICU, telemedicine in public schools, cancer screening for women and much more.
Physicians, employees and other friends of the health system produced and donated more than 50 items for this auction. Pieces included paintings, woodcarvings, jewelry and other items, such as vacation getaways, and much more.
